Practice Philosophy
I believe therapy is a collaborative journey where clients can feel safe, heard, and empowered. My integrative approach draws from multiple therapeutic modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Therapy, and Humanistic Therapy. I also incorporate Systemic Therapy to understand relational dynamics and promote meaningful change. By tailoring my methods to each individual, I help clients explore emotions, challenge unhelpful thought patterns, and build practical skills for lasting transformation.

I strive to create a warm, supportive environment where clients can gain self-awareness, foster emotional resilience, and work toward personal growth. Whether focusing on coping strategies, healing past wounds, or improving relationships, therapy is an opportunity for transformation and self-discovery. My goal is to empower clients to navigate life’s challenges with confidence and self-compassion.

Specialties

For Individual Therapy with Adults:
For Life’s demands can be overwhelming, and I support men and women navigating anxiety, depression, mood disorders, phobias, and significant life transitions. I take a practical and collaborative approach, helping clients recognize negative thought patterns, identify sources of stress, and develop healthier coping strategies. My work focuses on emotional resilience, self-acceptance, and building sustainable habits for mental well-being. Whether addressing career stress, navigating personal relationships, or exploring self-growth, I aim to create a space where individuals feel heard and supported in making meaningful changes.

Child Therapy (6-12):
In my practice, I specialize in working with children experiencing ADHD, anxiety, behavioral challenges, and emotional dysregulation. Through Play Therapy, structured interventions, and cognitive-based strategies, I create a nurturing environment where children can safely express themselves, develop emotional regulation skills, and build confidence. I also collaborate with parents and caregivers to provide guidance on fostering a supportive home environment, ensuring consistency and reinforcement of therapeutic progress.

Teens Therapy (12-18):
Adolescence is a time of self-exploration, identity formation, and heightened emotions. I support teens who are struggling with self-esteem, academic pressures, social anxiety, depression, and phobias. My approach combines structured skill-building with open-ended exploration, allowing teens to express themselves freely while developing tools to manage stress, build confidence, and navigate relationships. By providing a nonjudgmental space, I empower teens to take ownership of their mental health and equip them with lifelong strategies for emotional resilience.

Couples Therapy:
Relationships require intentional effort and a willingness to grow together. I help couples strengthen communication, repair trust, and deepen emotional connection. My approach integrates principles from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and the Gottman Method to help couples break destructive cycles, develop emotional attunement, and cultivate a more secure and fulfilling relationship. Whether navigating conflict, recovering from infidelity, or seeking to improve intimacy, I guide partners in understanding each other’s needs and working collaboratively toward a healthier dynamic.

Areas of Focus:
I specialize in anxiety, depression, mood disorders, phobias, and play therapy. I support clients facing stress, trauma, and major life transitions by helping them cultivate self-awareness, emotional regulation, and adaptive coping strategies. My work is centered on empowering individuals to regain balance, manage distress, and develop a sense of control in their lives. My goal is to not only help clients process past struggles but also equip them with the tools they need to thrive in the future.

Background
I was born in Havana, Cuba, and moved to the United States at 15. My passion for psychology was shaped by my aunt, a speech pathologist, who introduced me to the world of therapy. Spending time in play therapy rooms and witnessing the impact of individualized interventions sparked my interest in mental health.

I earned my Bachelor’s in Psychology and Master’s in Clinical Social Work from Florida International University. I also hold a Certificate in Neuropsychotherapy, which enhances my ability to integrate neuroscience-based techniques into therapy. My clinical experience spans working with diverse populations, including individuals, couples, children, and teens, helping them overcome challenges and create meaningful change.

Outside of therapy, I enjoy spending time at the beach, swimming, snorkeling, and watching the sunset. I love reading romance novels and psychological thrillers, going on walks, practicing mindful coloring, and doing Pilates. These activities help me maintain balance and reinforce the importance of self-care, a principle I encourage in my clients as well.

I am dedicated to guiding individuals, couples, children, and teens toward healing, growth, and self-discovery. No matter what you’re facing, I am here to support and empower you every step of the way.
