Practice Philosophy

I believe therapy is a space for self-discovery, healing, and transformation. My goal is to guide individuals in navigating life’s challenges with resilience, self-awareness, and self-compassion. As a trauma-informed therapist, I recognize how past experiences shape our present, and I tailor my approach to create a safe, supportive, and collaborative space for growth.

I emphasize personal empowerment, helping clients recognize their strengths, break free from limiting patterns, and develop healthier ways of thinking and being. Together, we will explore both past experiences and current struggles, making meaningful connections that foster deeper self-understanding. I also integrate psychoeducation, equipping clients with practical tools to manage emotions, improve relationships, and build a life aligned with their values.

As a registered yoga teacher, I integrate the mind-body connection and spirituality into counseling, creating a holistic approach to well-being. This allows clients to explore healing beyond traditional talk therapy by incorporating breathwork, movement, and mindfulness techniques to foster emotional balance and inner peace.

Therapeutic Approach & Specialties

Trauma & PTSD

Understanding and healing from trauma is at the core of my therapeutic work. Trauma impacts not just the mind but also the body, emotions, and relationships. Through a trauma-informed lens, I help clients process their experiences, build resilience, and regain a sense of control. Therapy is a space to reframe past experiences, release emotional burdens, and cultivate a renewed sense of self.

Coming from a victim services background, I take on an empowerment-based and trauma-informed approach, helping clients reclaim their sense of safety, agency, and self-worth.

Self-Esteem & Empowerment

I specialize in helping individuals build self-worth and confidence. Many people struggle with self-doubt, perfectionism, and negative self-talk, which can keep them feeling stuck. I work collaboratively with clients to challenge limiting beliefs, develop self-compassion, and embrace their authentic selves. My approach incorporates mindfulness, positive psychology, and cognitive-behavioral strategies to foster lasting confidence.

Domestic Violence & Relationship Healing

For those who have experienced domestic violence or unhealthy relationship dynamics, therapy can provide a path to healing and reclaiming personal power. I support survivors in rebuilding their sense of safety, self-trust, and emotional well-being. Together, we explore patterns, develop healthy boundaries, and nurture the ability to create fulfilling and secure relationships moving forward.

Eating Disorders & Holistic Recovery

Having worked at the residential level of care for eating disorder treatment, I am equipped with the necessary tools for comprehensive care. I understand the complexities of eating disorders and how they impact both the mind and body. My approach focuses on rebuilding a healthy relationship with food, body image, and self-identity. I integrate mindfulness, self-compassion, and somatic practices to support clients in developing a sustainable

path to healing.

Divorce & Life Transitions

Life changes—whether expected or unexpected—can bring a mix of emotions, from grief to relief. Divorce and major life transitions can feel overwhelming, but they also offer an opportunity for growth. I help clients process emotions, rediscover their identity, and move forward with confidence. My approach encourages clients to embrace change as a time for self-renewal and personal reinvention.

Women’s Health & Well-Being

Women often face unique challenges, from societal expectations to navigating relationships, motherhood, and career pressures. I offer a safe and empowering space for women to explore their identities, develop self-acceptance, and prioritize their well-being. Whether struggling with body image, stress, or major life decisions, I guide clients in making choices that honor their values and aspirations.

Background

I was born and raised in Miami, Florida, and my bicultural background has shaped my understanding of how identity, culture, and personal experiences influence mental health. Being bilingual in English and Spanish, I am passionate about making therapy accessible to diverse communities and helping individuals feel understood and supported.

I earned my Master of Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the College of William and Mary and my Bachelor of Psychology from the University of Florida. My education and clinical experience have equipped me with a holistic approach to therapy, integrating both scientific research and compassionate care to help my clients thrive.

Outside of therapy, I enjoy hot yoga, long walks, and spending time with my dog, Seamus. My self-care practices keep me grounded, and I encourage my clients to explore their own ways of nurturing emotional balance.

Conclusion

Therapy is a journey, and I am honored to walk alongside my clients as they navigate their healing and personal growth. Whether you are facing a life transition, struggling with self-doubt, or seeking to heal from past experiences, I am here to provide a compassionate, nonjudgmental space where you can thrive and create the life you deserve.
